In this talk, we will look back on 2007, 2008, and 2009 and see how the trends in the Oracle industry in those years gave rise to the Oracle database world of 2010.  We'll look back at employment trends, database sizes, the new benchmarks, and the rise of usability as a critical issue for applications.  This talk will also cover such critical issues as the disappearance of the .400-hitting DBA, why drug dealers live with their mothers, and why UNIX servers have a nicer office than their operators do.
