Deep and Daily Practical Performance Diagnosis and Analysis

Drawing on his expertise as a gifted teacher and author, Craig has
taken sections from his Oracle performance courses, his  books, and
his latest research and consolidated them into a single day centered
on Oracle performance optimization. This empowering seminar will
give you relevant, tangible, and deep technical knowledge you can
immediately put to use. The morning session will focus on executing
a systematic performance diagnosis including data source specifics
such as the performance views, industry standard reports, and free
tools.  The afternoon concentrates on identifying, understanding,
and resolving three of the more difficult performance issues: buffer
busy waits, free buffer waits, and library cache latch and mutex
contention! You'll be inspired by Craig's explanation of the
internals, how problems occur, how to diagnose the situation, and
how to solve the same problem in multiple ways.  It will be a
uniquely practical and intense seminar, delivered with the personal
touch of an industry expert - don't miss it!

Morning Agenda:

  • Systematic response time-based performance diagnosis using standard
    views, reports, and tools
  • Breathing new life into Oracle's wait interface by digging deep and
using it in unusually practical ways
  • Why CPU consumption is so important, the various Oracle gathering
strategies, and how to use this information

Afternoon Agenda:

  • Internals, diagnosis, and resolution strategies for:
    - free buffer waits
    - buffer busy waits
    - library cache latch and mutex contention
